Peoples Gas – This is a large gas provider in the country. They offer a program called Share that helps people pay for their gas bill if they are struggling to do so.  The program can help people who need immediate assistance, as well as those who need ongoing help. Emergency Home Energy Assistance for the Elderly Program – This is a program that helps older people pay for their gas and energy bills. Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) – This is a program offered by the federal government. The program helps people pay for their energy bills if they are struggling to do so.
